Whether I’m walking or observing from a moving car, I aim to capture different perspectives on life in less fortunate areas. My images focus on the simple, often overlooked moments that hold beauty. Some of the photos intentionally feature humans out of focus, highlighting the fleeting nature of these moments and emphasizing the broader context of their surroundings.

This invites you to look past the individuals and see the larger story —a story that’s more about the community and its struggles than the fleeting faces. These images capture a world in motion, reminding us that every scene tells a deeper story.

Rather than evoking pity, my photos invite appreciation for the richness of life, even in difficult circumstances. The air, thick with the scent of body odors, ripe fruits, motorbike exhaust, and occasionally garbage, paints a vivid picture that words alone can’t capture.

The sounds and smells of the marketplace reflect the impact of consumerism and globalization, while also revealing the hard work and resilience of the people who sustain the local economy.

All of these images were made during my time in Uganda and Rwanda, and are also featured in my book Positive Tracks.
